Bachelor Fashion Design

The Bachelor of Fashion Design is a three year degree that prepares graduates for creative professional employment in the fashion industry. The degree aims to produce highly creative, work ready design professionals who can apply their knowledge and creative ability across different work contexts and roles in the fashion industry.

The qualification is delivered with an applied focus where the theoretical learning is explored through various fashion related practical projects.  In undertaking the degree students have the opportunity to specialise in a range of areas including couture, tailoring, fashion textiles menswear and fashion branding. The course covers all important aspects of fashion design practice and learning is enhanced by two compulsory and facilitated internships and a final year programme where students produce a graduate collection supported by a comprehensive branding and communication strategy.

 

DIPLOMA OF FASHION

Course Code: HE20516

The Diploma of Fashion is a Higher Education program that provides a broad appreciation for the fashion industry. It is delivered through foundational frameworks for creative practice, as well as the knowledge and skills for working in a junior design or design support role in the fashion industry, giving students the opportunity to expand their design capability, or to undertake subjects that will support employment in the fashion industry in roles such as textile print design, fashion business and buying, marketing and branding, and fashion merchandising.

 

CERTIFICATE IV IN DESIGN (FASHION DESIGN)

National Course Code: CUA40720

This Nationally accredited qualification is delivered focusing on Fashion Design. As the course is fast tracked, entry is usually via the Cert III in Design Fundamentals (Fashion Design) (CUA30715). You will develop knowledge and skills that prepare you for working in a junior design assistant role in the fashion industry. Whilst design focused you will also look at market segments and positioning, develop market specific design concepts and present your brand proposal to an industry panel.

CERTIFICATE IV IN DESIGN (Textile DESIGN & Printing)

National Course Code: CUA40720

This course targets on important niche sector in the design industry, namely the designer, printer who develops and prints their own designs on base cloth for a variety of end uses, including the fashion and or furnishing sector. The emphasis of the qualification is to develop fabric print designers who also have some technical knowledge of the mechanics of printing fabrics.

CERTIFICATE III IN DESIGN FUNDAMENTALS (FASHION DESIGN)

National Course Code: CUA30720

This is an introductory level Nationally accredited qualification that provides foundational knowledge and skills in fashion design and will provide a pathway into further studies in Fashion Design at Certificate IV, and then Bachelor levels. You will gain foundational skills in fashion illustration, colour theory, technical production sketches, Computer Aided Design specific for fashion design, as well as some fashion industry knowledge.

CERTIFICATE III IN DESIGN FUNDAMENTALS (TEXTILE DESIGN AND PRINTING)

National Course Code: CUA30720

This Nationally accredited qualification course targets an important niche sector in the design industry, namely the designer, printer who develops and prints their own designs on base cloths for a variety of end uses, including the fashion and or furnishing sectors. The course also provides training in design skills and knowledge for people who want to develop commercial fabric print designs for local and international markets. The emphasis of the qualification is to develop fabric print designers, who also have some technical knowledge of the mechanics of printing fabrics. You will learn how to create and print innovative designs for fabrics while you apply considerations of aesthetics and function, and use a range of design and fabric printing applications technology. The course trains you for entry-level work in large printing and design firms, small printing workshops, or self-employment. As the delivery is fast tracked, entry is usually via the Certificate III in design Fundamentals (Textile Design and Printing) (CUA30715)
